6 March 2016
Reigning V8 Touring car Champion Liam McAdam started his full season DVS tilt as the leading rookie having secured 11th position in the field after just one race meeting.
The concrete jungle of the famous Clipsal circuit beckoned all drivers in early March and with the DVS field being one of the strongest and deepest for some years there was a lot of pressure on all drivers to bag early points. With the great advice and support from the Eggleston Motorsport crew Liam took to the track to learn the daunting circuit and to grab as many early championship points as possible. With a clam and mature approach Liam made sure that he got the best out of all sessions whilst bringing the car home in one piece. With a race 1 qualifying result of 15th Liam drove a smart and smooth race and whilst dealing with a bit of biff and barge from a few he drove the care faultlessly to 11th place. Race 2 had its own qualifying session and Liam managed 20th place but made up for that by driving a sensational race and came home in 10th place. The combined result was a 11th for the weekend and a solid start to the 2016 campaign. This placed Liam as the highest ranked rookie at the end of the meeting and a strong position leading into Round 2 at Phillip Island.
